Today in math we were learning are lesson as usual, when we noticed that my math teacer made a mistake on the problem she was teaching us. One minuet later the same thing happened. And so on and so on for about the next ten minuets. Then while we were doing are homework my teacher asked if I would come help her and another student with a problem because my math teacher did not know how to do it.
This always what seems to happen to me each and every day in my math class. I really like my teacher as a person, yet she has dyslexia, is really bad at word problems, and just happens to be, not very good at math (to put it in respectful terms). I just really hope that by the end of the year I am not just as smart as when I started at the beginning of the year.

Perhaps it's time to talk to the administration about either being moved ahead in math or finding a suitable replacement for the math teacher, hmmmm???? Sic your dad on 'em. He loves that kind of stuff, right?
Just don't tell him that it was my idea...

I found your blog through the blog "tell me about it". You are an articulate young man with a great vocabulary and writing style. My three children are grown (some of them graduated from Hudson High School), so I have a little experience with school issues like this. While still maintaining your respect for your teacher, I feel that you must alert all the adults in your life who you trust about this situation. This year of math is building block for your future. A teacher who is not prepared to teach the material should not be teaching the class. While you are a student who understands what is going on, the students who are struggling to understand the concepts are just being more confused when the material they are trying to learn is further confused by a teacher who is herself confused. I have a strong passion for kids getting the best education possible. They are the future and deserve to be armed wit ha killer education in order to be able to make good and wise choices in the future. Best of everything to you and your education. Don't be afraid to respectively speak up.
